  12. Well, this is one of those simple little programs that can make life
  13. a little easier.  The purpose of this program is simply to allow you
  14. to double-click on an icon and shutdown Windows.  This I found to be
  15. easier than going through Program Manager.
  16.  
  17. You can just simply exit Windows, or configure it to display a dialog
  18. box asking you if you really want to exit.  This is similar to what
  19. you get from Program Manager.

  21.             BUT DON'T WORRY!.
  22.  
  23. This method of closing down Windows is the same way Program Manager
  24. does it.  So no work will be lost.  For example, let's say you have
  25. EXCEL running with a spreadsheet you just created or modified, but
  26. haven't saved yet.  EXCEL (and all running programs) will get notified
  27. by Windows that it is closing down, so you have a chance to save your
  28. work.

  51.     For added flexibility, version 1.1 or WinExit can now be executed
  52.     from Program Manager.  Just define WinExit in any folder with
  53.     something (ANYTHING!) on the command line.  It doesn't matter what
  54.     is on the command line, just so there is something there.  Then
  55.     when you double-click on the EXIT icon, it will shutdown Windows.
